Smashing anti-pirate campaign

THE reaction pictured left was not quite what Keeping Posted expected when we asked Canto-pop star Leon Lai what he thought of fellow artist Aaron Kwok's latest CD.

Only kidding, folks. Leon, and indeed Aaron, were at Broadcast Drive yesterday when the two ''kings'' gave their support to the campaign against record pirating spearheaded by Commercial Radio.

Also there to vent their anger against the pirates, who deprive them of royalties, by smashing up the illicit material were artists Alan Tam, Veronica Yip and Shirley Kwan.

Alas, despite the enthusiasm of everyone present to, in the words of Commercial Radio's Matt Hackett ''send pirate material once and for all to that big dustbin in the sky'', what was on display didn't amount to much.

Perhaps next time they should all head with their hammers to the streets of Mongkok.
