Life insurance provider MLC (Hong Kong) has two reasons to celebrate this year: 2004 marks the company's 10th anniversary in Hong Kong, and the firm is proud to have two winners in the Distinguished Salesperson Awards (DSA).
The company is the Asian flagship operation of Australia's MLC Group, which is owned by banking giant National Australia Bank.
General manager Joseph Ho said MLC had stringent rules for nominating staff for the awards.
'The No1 thing we look at is the employees' desire to be good salesmen, to achieve good numbers, and to deliver good service,' Mr Ho said.
'We do not necessarily nominate the top sales people. Every salesperson has his or her own personality and his or her own market. We help them to be successful according to their personality and the target sector they are going after.'
MLC (Hong Kong) offers a range of insurance products, including life, accident and medical insurance, as well as investment-linked life insurance, group life insurance, Mandatory Provident Fund, pension funds and wealth protection schemes.
The company's DSA winners this year are Helen Wong Oi-lun, an MLC branch manager, and Roy Cheung, chief agency regional director.
