Telecommunications carrier Hutchison Global Communications (HGC) places great emphasis on training its sales force.
Sales and marketing director Steve Lam said the company regarded its sales staff - apart from its extensive optical fibre network - as central to its success as Hong Kong's second largest fixed-line operator.
'That is why we put lots of effort into training our sales force, especially the junior ones, who are extra receptive to the fast-changing telecom world and always eager to learn the new things,' Mr Lam said.
HGC has two winners in this year's Distinguished Salesperson Awards: Kenneth Lam, an account manager for Business Voice, the firm's business fixed-line service, and Cheuk Wai-man, an account executive for the residential broadband market.
Both Mr Kenneth Lam and Mr Cheuk were recipients of the Outstanding Young Salesperson Award.
'The prestigious award is not only recognition of Cheuk Wai-man and Kenneth's professionalism and dedication but also recognition of our efforts,' Mr Lam said.
'The award also adds credit to our corporate brand. Customers have more confidence in HGC.'
