Audiences at the premiere of Mamma Mia! last Thursday left the show singing their favourite Abba songs and totally thrilled with the show which ran according to plan - or so they thought. In fact, the cast were so professional that the audience did not even notice the panic that took place in the very first act when Kellie Rode (who plays Sophie) had a dress crisis when it split right down her back. 'Sophie just had to cope with it and hold her dress together in a way that the audience wouldn't notice and then run off to get a new one at the first possible opportunity,' said Mark Rowe, company manager of Mamma Mia! And that's not the worst thing that's happened on stage. Emma Powell, who plays Rosie, told CitySeen: 'Things don't always run smoothly during shows. 'When we were in Auckland, we had a blackout in the middle of the show and once I slipped over on some water and fell flat on my face in the middle of Take a Chance on Me.'
