Two boutique staff were beaten and robbed inside Pacific Place yesterday while on their way to deposit the shop's takings at a bank. Police later arrested a mainland illegal immigrant at the Admiralty MTR station in connection with the incident. The two women, aged 44 and 28, were carrying the weekend's takings of an Armani Exchange boutique in a paper bag when the attack happened at 11am. About $29,000, 260,000 yen (HK$18,270) and US$100 was in the bag. One woman also lost her mobile phone. Up to four robbers attacked the women and snatched the bag. A security guard, 55, also was beaten up during a struggle. The three victims suffered head, face and chest injuries and were treated at Queen Mary Hospital. A 22-year-old illegal immigrant was still being questioned by police last night.
