Two PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) officials have been appointed provisional liquidators for the troubled hedge fund managed by Charles Schmitt, who has been charged with stealing US$930,000 from the fund. Justice Suffiad of the High Court on Monday appointed Jan Blaauw and John Toohey as joint provisional liquidators of CSA Absolute Return Fund, PwC said yesterday. According to Mr Toohey, the fund had 1,200 to 1,400 clients who had invested about US$190 million. The two liquidators will investigate the financial status of the fund and report their findings to the court on July 2.
