You have sunblock for your face and sunscreen lotion for your body, but what about your lips?  Lip balm isn't just  for winter. Wearing lip balm in the summer not  only moisturises your lips but also protects them from  the sun's harmful rays.  When choosing  a lip balm this summer, make sure it has a high SPF.

Nivea lip care SPF 25 ($28.50)

A high SPF but it feels too sticky. Disappointing.

Blistex daily conditioning treatment for lips SPF 20 ($52)

The high SPF and non-greasy texture makes this lip balm a great base for coloured lipsticks. But you need to put it on with a brush, which is quite inconvenient.

No 7 shimmering lip screen   SPF 15 ($100)

Its SPF is high enough for normal daily use. The glitter highlights the lips, and  it's transparent  so it's great  if you don't like adding extra colour to  your lips. The moisturising effect, however, is not  outstanding.

Neutrogena lip moisturizer SPF 15 ($42.90)

It's easy to use and has a high SPF, but the most important thing is that it gives the best moisturising effect out of the five products we tested. Definitely a must-have item this summer.

Blistex ultra protection for lips SPF 30 ($38)

Perfect for a big day out at the beach because it's waterproof and its SPF is one of the highest available. The flip-top cap is handy too.  Not particularly moisturising though.
