'Circuit-breaker' eyed for stocks

A 'circuit-breaker' system to control trading volatility may be brought in by the stock exchange in an attempt to make the market less vulnerable to speculative attack and panic selling. Paul Chow Man-yiu, chief executive of Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing, says the exchange is considering the introduction of a system that would suspend trading in single stocks or the entire market when share prices drop abruptly.
