Riva Restaurant and Lounge at the Park Lane hotel in Causeway Bay will hold a dinner on Tuesday featuring the wines of Yering Station from the Yarra Valley in Australia. The four-course dinner includes barbecued Yarra Valley quail with wild mushroom tart, bell peppers and chive veloute, paired with Yering Station Yarra Valley Merlot 2001, and a choice for main course of pan-roasted lamb cutlets with potato and pumpkin gratin and rosemary jus or grilled Australian beef tenderloin on lemon-scented couscous and asparagus with tomato-balsamic dressing, served with two of the Yarra Valley range: the Cabernet Sauvignon 2000 and Shiraz 2000. Dessert of warm bittersweet chocolate rolls with vanilla bean ice cream and berry compote will be served with the Late Harvest Pinot Gris 2001. The dinner is $588 plus 10 per cent. In time for summer, some hotels in Hong Kong are jumping on the health and diet bandwagons. Nathan's at the Hyatt Regency in Tsim Sha Tsui is doing a trial run of an organic salad bar with its carvery luncheon. The organic salads are available until August 31. The carvery luncheon is also on special for $108 plus 10 per cent, instead of the usual $128. Inquiries: 2311 1234.

At the Langham Hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Sun's Cafe has a low-cal/low-carb lunchtime buffet for $138 plus 10 per cent. Low-calorie offerings include chicken with papaya, steamed salmon in lemongrass, sea bass with polenta and five-spice honey-glazed duck. Low-carbohydrate dishes include salads of chicken schwarma, shrimp and apple, and avocado and crab. Reservations: 2375 1133.

The Harbour Plaza Metropolis will hold an Argentine food festival at Promenade restaurant throughout July. The special dishes are available on the lunch and dinner buffets, and include: cold Argentine charcuterie; chorizo, blood sausages and Salchicha sausage; Argentine shepherd's pie with olives; raisins and oregano and manzada asada (sugar-glazed, oven-cooked apples with walnut filling and ice cream). The lunch buffet is $168 plus 10 per cent for adults ($138 for children) Monday-Friday, and $198 ($158 for children) on weekends. The dinner buffet is $288 for adults ($178 for children) Monday-Thursday and $328 ($218 for children) Friday-Sunday. The hotel also has a poolside barbecue every Saturday during July featuring Argentine dishes and tango music. It costs $280 plus 10 per cent. Bookings: 3160 6880.

Belvedere at the InterContinental Grand Stanford in Tsim Sha Tsui East is featuring fresh Australian seafood on its menu. Dishes include pan-seared snapper with cod and coriander potato puree (pictured above), blue-eye cod fillet with roasted zucchini, garlic and thyme puree, and yellow fin tuna sashimi with truffle and quail broth.
