Forget Alan Shearer or Shay Given. Hong Kong football fans should watch out for the up-and-coming players, said Newcastle United manager Bobby Robson, as his team prepared for their exhibition match against Kitchee on July 18 at the Hong Kong Stadium.
'Yes, I know people are more familiar with our stars like Alan Shearer, Gary Speed and Shay Given,' said the former England manager.
'But we have tried to introduce into the club a young element and we have about 14 of them, like Craig Bellamy, Keiron Dyer, Hugo Viana, Andrew O'Brien, Oliver Bernard and Shola Ameobi.
'So the future is, basically, in the hands of some very good young players.
'They're young, they keep you alert and they have quality. They are ambitious, they want to do well and they're going to help the club in the future.'
Robson's lastest signing is 18-year-old forward James Milner, who arrived at St James' Park from former Premier League side Leeds United this summer.
