Three masked robbers escaped with $300 and a mobile phone from a petrol station in Pat Heung after threatening two staff members with what appeared to be a pistol early yesterday. The employees, aged 24 and 62, were unhurt in the incident at the Kam Tin Road petrol station just before 3am. No arrests have been made.
woman survives suicide leap from 24th floor
A woman has survived a suicide leap from the stairs between the 24th and 25th floors of Tai On Building in Shau Kei Wan Road, Sai Wan Ho. Police said the woman, 46, landed on a canopy on the first floor before bouncing to the ground. She was taken to Eastern Hospital, where she was in a critical condition. In a separate case, a cancer patient, 69, plunged to death from his 20th-floor apartment in Hing Tin Estate, Lam Tin.
trio detained in vice raid
Three mainland women aged 28 to 43 were arrested in an anti-vice operation in Tsuen Wan during which officers raided several properties. The trio, all two-way permit holders, will appear in court today.
