Name: Hui Wai-ho Grade: Form Six School: La Salle College Sport: Badminton Statistics: When Wai-ho was seven he attended a badminton course organised by the Sports Institute. He gradually advanced to the national level and was selected to join the national youth squad in 2001. In last year's Asian Schools Badminton Championships he helped the squad place first runner-up in the team competition. He also finished third in the mixed doubles division. In the All China Secondary School Student Games 2003 he won a silver medal in the double and bronze medal in the team competition. He was a winner of an Outstanding School Athletes Award last year. Recently, his achievements have won him the BOCHK Bauhinia Bowl Awards' Outstanding Athlete Award (badminton). Soundbite: 'Badminton has become part of my life. Ambitions: Wai-ho is now preparing himself for this month's Asian Youth Championship in South Korea and October's World Youth Championships in Canada. He hopes to place within the top eight in both tournaments. He also plans to study global business at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology. Although he enjoys taking part in sports, he believes that studying business will be a better guarantee for his future - and it is a goal that his family will support.
