Sir Elton John will perform on the mainland for the first time in September as part of his Asian tour. Our city will be his first stop, followed by Taipei, Seoul and two shows at the Grand Stage in Shanghai on September 19 and 21. CitySeen tried fishing for Sir Elton's after-party venue but was told by his regional promoter: 'Don't expect much of a party afterwards, he's probably not into partying as much as he used to be.' But, as CitySeen found out, he will be bringing his tennis coach. So if you want to catch a glimpse of this superstar off-stage, try tennis court-hopping instead of club-hopping! Prior to his trip, Sir Elton is taking a break from touring to score songs for the stage version of the film Billy Elliot. Limited VIP seats for his gig at the Convention and Exhibition Centre on September 13 are available at $1,690. For the rest of us mortals, tickets cost $490 to $890.
