Winter weather cools HK Electric sales growth Hongkong Electric Holdings says sales grew at a poorer than expected 3 per cent to 4 per cent for the first six months of this year. Managing director Tso Kai-sum said yesterday that cooler weather between January and May had affected expectations. He said electricity tariffs would be reviewed at the end of the year. Cathay Pacific extends onboard sales contract Cathay Pacific Airways has signed a five-year contract extension with Inflight Sales Group Hong Kong (ISG), its supplier of onboard sales items since 1999. The contract will take effect from October 1 next year. ISG will supply alcohol, tobacco, perfumes, cosmetics and other merchandise on Cathay's flights. Far East back in profit Far East Consortium International has seen a turnaround in business for last year, with net profit of $149.01 million against a $124.2 million loss a year ago, the company announced yesterday. Turnover rose 2.9 per cent to $819.85 million. A final dividend of three cents will be paid.
