The operator of a Yuen Long cattle-rescue farm is seeking help from veterinarians to destroy the 60 animals she cares for if a new site cannot be found by the end of the year.
Without new land, Francesca Au Yeung Chui-yee said she would have no choice but to destroy the cattle when the owners of the farm took it back to turn it into a car park.
The Tai Tong Lychee Valley Corporation told Ms Au Yeung and her World Animal Rights (Charity) Association to quit the farm by the end of March but the deadline was extended to the end of the year.
Ms Au Yeung has been unable to find a vet to help her destroy the animals if necessary.
To do so without expert help would be illegal, according to SPCA executive director Pauline Taylor.
Ms Au Yeung said the government had offered other sites but it would be too expensive to make them suitable for grazing.
