A middle-aged man was released on bail yesterday after he pleaded guilty in Kowloon City Court to possessing child pornography.
Principal Magistrate Ernest Lin Kam-hung adjourned the sentencing of Peter Colin Bower, 54, until August 17, pending background, psychological and psychiatric assessments.
At least two other child pornography cases have been heard this month.
Bower's lawyer asked Mr Lin to grant his client bail because time in custody would cost his client his job.
The court heard that 531 images of child pornography were found on Bower's computer when police raided his Yau Ma Tei home on May 17.
Under caution, Bower admitted he had access to some child pornographic websites and downloaded some of the websites' images for his own viewing.
