Seven projectors stolen from school
Thieves took seven overhead projectors valued at $128,000 from St Stephen's Girls' College in Central. An employee found the windows open in classrooms on the first, second and third floors. The projectors in those rooms were missing.
Noisy operators brought to heel
A company was fined $40,000 last month for using power equipment without a permit. Twelve other convictions were recorded under the noise control ordinance, while there were 29 for air pollution and 15 for waste disposal.
record firm manager denies bribe counts
A record company manager accused of receiving bribes to buy CDs pleaded not guilty to two bribery charges in Eastern Court. Lam Tun-yin, 37, of Hong Kong Record, allegedly received $3,000 from two men who have been charged by the ICAC. The case was adjourned to August 10.
