THE top beauty houses have heralded autumn and winter with an expansive range of colours. Most have embraced the richness of burgundy, the vibrance of red for winter warmth to lips, with eyes enhanced with muted jade grey and charcoal.
But there are options in an autumnal range of orange, pink and copper hues, eyes sparkling with gold-flecked browns, cheeks glowing with out-of-season rose.
Chanel has come out strongly in favour of being bold and beautiful, with the emphasis on berries and browns. As always, Chanel has created two looks which it calls ''earthly riches'' and ''misty moods''.
Fairer complexions will be enhanced by the first which brushes lips with the deeper hues of burgundy, the unusual golden beige and burnt orange, to complement eyes which are touched with smoky browns, and grey with a touch of ivory. Cheeks are warmed with rosewood.
Darker complexions are enlivened with raspberry red, purple red and orange-red on lips. Eyes are moody - coloured with blue-grey slate, light pink, blue and charcoal grey.
Chanel has launched new shades for the complexion with golden beige aimed to enhance a lingering tan, or a rose pink to correct slightly yellow skin tones with a light glow.
