This Ibizan institution now has 70 incarnations globally. The oldest club in town opened in 1973 in a decrepit farmhouse (a Spanish finca), which now seems at odds with the smart set that attends all year round. Pacha is ringed by floodlit palm trees and boasts four rooms, a sushi bar, a sunken dance floor and hectares of terracing with views of the harbour where its classy clientele moor their yachts. Think playboys, bunnies on the make, gorgeous models and a spattering of A-list types such as Sean P. Diddy Combs. This is a must-visit, if only to loosen the hinges on your new Hermes ostrich-skin wallet or clutch bag. Open midnight to 7.30am, entry 30-50 euros, Saturdays feature DJ Frankie Knuckles. Sundays@Space

Arguably the best day club in the world, Sundays@Space opens at 8am, attracting the beautiful people from other clubs, which close at about 7am. True aficionados, however, arrive at lunchtime or in the late afternoon and party till 6am, soaking up the sun on its famed terrace or prancing in the dark interior. Although it offers by far the best and most popular daytime bashes, avoid its closing parties at the end of the season when the queues snake around the island. Open 8am-6am. Manumission

Nothing to do with Manchester United (though it does hail from the same city), Manumission is Latin for 'freedom from slavery' and just celebrated its 10th birthday. Despite being held on Monday nights, this is the best and biggest club night on the White Island and in the world, according to clubbers' bible Mixmag magazine. It is hosted at Privilege, listed in the Guinness Book Of World Records as the biggest club in the world with a 10,000-person capacity (although it's only licensed for 4,000). Entry is 34-42 euros, a pittance considering the legendary antics of the debauched crowd - live sex and performing dwarves anyone? Open midnight to 8am.
