Last week, CitySeen reported Zhang Ziyi's victory over Maggie Cheung Man-yuk and Michelle Yeoh Choo Kheng for the battle to land the leading role in Memoirs of a Geisha - a film to be executive-produced by Steven Spielberg and directed by Rob Marshall, of Chicago fame.
Today, CitySeen's sources say that apparently they were up for different roles and Yeoh, who already had a fitting session for the movie, is in the final stages of negotiation. The nimble actress is now travelling in Europe and was not available for comment, but a representative in Hong Kong said details would be forthcoming.
If the script is similar to the novel, there should be two supporting roles - one for the evil geisha and the other for the good geisha. And CitySeen has her money on Yeoh as a good girl.
