Official leak sniffed out

JUST days before Governor Chris Patten's policy address there's a leak at the Central Government Offices.

Who are you are going to call? Towngas, that's who.

There may be a lot being cooked-up around those hallowed halls right now but renovation workers who noticed a strange smell on the seventh floor of the west wing yesterday knew that not even stale policy could be that rotten.

The workers called police, who alerted firemen about 11 am. Towngas engineers were summoned and turned off the main gas switch.
