Programmes a disaster

I REFER to a letter from a Damien John Hazelton of Happy Valley praising Hong Kong's English TV programming. He has got to be kidding.

The kind of programmes unleashed on TV viewers are so pathetic at times that the best thing to do is switch off.

Films often have scenes censored, and this takes the pleasure out of the film. Holiday programmes are a bigger disaster.

If one is to resort to videos and laser disc players then one might as well cancel the franchises of the two TV companies and invite fresh tenders from international bidders so that future programming can be much better.
