There were no fans waiting at the airport when American Idol's most famous reject returned to Hong Kong last week for the first time in more than a decade. But he did draw some audiences over the weekend.

William Hung made his first Asian appearance in Macau's biggest slot-machine hall, Mocha at Kam Pek Casino, where Angela Ho (below), casino magnate Stanley Ho Hung-sun's fourth wife, was one of the spectators - briefly.

She left even before he started, saying only: 'He's quite cute.'

Hung repeated on stage his monotone rendition of Ricky Martin's She Bangs, along with his - how shall we put this? - unique dance routine.

The Hong Kong-born entertainer showed enthusiasm about making a Chinese album, by singing a few lines from local singer Leon Lai Ming's song My Dear and entertaining reporters from Hong Kong, China, Taiwan and Singapore.

But when asked what he thought about his own singing, Hung simply replied 'no comment' - later adding: 'It's improving, slowly.'
