A Nepali tourist who swallowed about 1kg of cannabis resin was arrested when he arrived at Chek Lap Kok Airport.

During an X-ray examination, customs officers discovered about another 1kg of the drug hidden in the insoles of the passenger's shoes, said the divisional commander of the Customs' airport investigation division, Wong Wing-wah.

The drug, with a retail value of about $200,000, was found during a routine search of the 33-year-old who arrived from Kathmandu via Bangkok on Wednesday morning.
