HOK YAU CLUB, a social organisation specialising in youth counselling, offers a wide variety of activities for students. Bun Choy Ho-lun, a youth worker with the group, said participating students would be trained and go through a series of role plays, workshops and tests on skills. Students can put what they learn into practice. The group has shortlisted about 30 young volunteers to help organise its summer activities such as music camps, astronomy nights, hiking and carnivals. Mr Choy said students would meet people their age in the services, accumulate experience and learn through evaluation exercises. The volunteer activities are also opportunities to build contacts and network with peers, teachers and others you meet in the process. All of these help you get off to a good start to personal and career development.
