Get started at institutions that cater for a wide range of interests and professions

Hong Kong Academy for Performing Arts

This is the only tertiary institution in the territory that provides professional education, training and research facilities in the performing arts, theatre, technical arts, and film and TV. The academy's educational policy reflects the cultural diversity of Hong Kong, emphasising Chinese and western traditions. Academic programmes are offered from post-secondary diploma level to an  honours degree.

The Art School

The Art School is an institution under the ordinance of the Hong Kong Arts Centre. It provides an integrated educational programme complementing the core visual arts modules with elements of liberal arts. These include literary and performing arts, visual culture and theories, language enhancement, generic skills modules, and sciences and technology (algorithms and computer programming). The objective is to broaden students' horizons by providing a better-rounded development. The core visual arts modules are delivered through an array of theory classes and professional arts and design studios that are integrated through the creative process.

Hong Kong Travel and Tourism Training Centre

HKTT aims to provide good practical knowledge to people interested in joining the travel industry. One of the objectives is to train fresh high school graduates so they can fill frontline positions in airlines, hotels, travel agencies and tourism-related organisations. HKTT is the only authorised training centre of the International Air Transport Association in Hong Kong. The centre offers professional training courses, including travel and tourism, customer service, management service, languages and information technology. Its trainers are academically qualified and have extensive experience in the relevant fields.

Chinese Cuisine Training Institute

The CCTI aims to provide systematic training and trade testing in the preparation of Chinese cuisine, define a clear route for professional development and advancement within the industry, nurture local talent in Chinese cuisine, and elevate food safety levels and professional standards.   Diploma courses with practical and theoretical training programmes are provided.

Sara Beattie College

Sara Beattie provides practical and employable skills for the new office environment. All courses are conducted in English to improve fluency in the language and to increase employment opportunities. Sara Beattie provides one-year diploma programmes in sales and marketing, and administrative and secretarial management. It has close relationships with top employers. All teachers have a high standard of English and are carefully selected based on their practical industry experience.

The Hong Kong Institute of Gemmology

HKIG aims to promote knowledge and skills in gemmology and help students to develop their careers in the industry. HKIG provides interest classes, and professional and skills courses. The institute is a Fellow of the Gemmological Association,  Diamond Member of the Gemmological Association  and General Testing Laboratory in Hong Kong. It offers internationally recognised professional diplomas.

Hong Kong International Institute of Music

HKIIM aims to provide proper music training to youngsters, so  that they can learn to appreciate classical music. The institute offers high-quality training at a relatively low cost. It offers a four-year part-time diploma in music, which provides students with all-round training, including theory and practical classes in music. HKIIM also organises  concerts to provide an opportunity for students to perform.

Designfirst School

Designfirst has a 30-year history. Many former students have gone on to become  highly successful and internationally recognised. It offers seven professional diplomas in  product design, interior and environmental design, illustration design, photography, fine art, jewellery design and graphic design. It is regarded as the  most developed design institute in Hong Kong.

French Institutes Beauty School

The school aims to provide professional beauty education for practitioners. It provides basic knowledge and consultation for novices who have shown potential or are interested in entering the field. The institute offers internationally recognised diploma courses that are tailor-made for preparing students to sit the International Therapy Examination Council and the Confederation of International Beauty Therapy and Cosmetology examinations - the entry tickets to the beauty industry. The institute offers a wide range of courses that focus on  specific aspects of the industry.
