JOHANN MA is a young scholar about to complete an MPhil in Biology. Throughout his academic career, Mr Ma has worked as a research assistant and helped carry out several environmental studies.
With his wealth of scientific research knowledge, Mr Ma would like to act as a bridge between research and investment. As either a consultant in the investment department of a big company, or as a consultant for an investment firm or government agency, he wants to give advice and guidance to help companies make wise investments in the research field.
He said besides his professional knowledge in the area of scientific research, he could also bring to the job useful contacts he had made in other areas through people working in sales, government and other consulting firms.
But his strongest asset is his ability to advise a company on which research is the most important, will get results and is the most profitable. His familiarity of patent laws and China's intellectual property laws are an added bonus.
Mr Ma prides himself on being an employee with whom people can talk freely and discuss their thoughts and future plans.
His background as a research assistant has included working with the Institute of Developmental Biology and Molecular Medicine of Fudan University, as well as the university's State Key Laboratory of Genetic Engineering, Institute of Genetics.
