78-year-old pedestrian killed in Aberdeen
Police are investigating a traffic accident in which a 78-year-old woman was killed in Aberdeen yesterday. Shortly after 7.30am, the woman, who was crossing the road, was knocked down by a light-goods vehicle driven by a 43-year-old man in Tang Fung Street.
The woman suffered serious head injuries and was taken to Queen Mary Hospital, where she was declared dead.
two telephone engineers in critical condition
Two telephone company staff were fighting for their lives in Caritas Medical Centre after inhaling toxic gas from an electricity generator and collapsing in Cheung Sha Wan.
Police said the two, aged 24 and 27, from New World Telecom, were working in a mechanical room on the 12th floor of an industrial building in Castle Peak Road about 4pm.
Feeling uncomfortable, they asked the building's watchman for help and he called 999. They were in critical condition last night.
