Allegations are raised that public funds were used to pay for sex with actresses
The admission by an actress of having paid sex with legislators is threatening to sink new tax measures the government wants to impose to cut the budget deficit.
Aware that the issue could give the public the wrong impression that lawmakers are squandering public funds to pay for sexual services, Speaker of the House Jose de Venecia has ordered a probe into allegations made by Keanna Reeves.
Mr de Venecia appealed to Reeves to identify her clients and vowed to make the guilty pay for staining the image of the House.
The scandal began last week when Reeves, 22, appeared on television to promote the launch of her movie Shut Up. She casually mentioned that her bread and butter came from working as an escort over the past two years.
Among the clients who regularly booked her were several congressmen, a governor and mayor, with whom she went 'all the way if the price is right'.
