Graduate eyes career in PR
ELAINE NG is an enthusiastic and outgoing university graduate looking for a job with a public relations firm. With experience in customer relations, Ms Ng has great people skills and wants to use them in the role of a marketing assistant or a PR representative.
Having recently graduated from the University of Hong Kong with a degree in business administration, majoring in marketing and human resources, her studies have given her the academic skills she needs to do the job.
She is working part-time as a research assistant for a research and consultancy company, carrying out telephone recruitment and interviews, reviewing data and assisting in data analysis. She also works more hands-on with the public as a waitress and bartender at a popular bar and restaurant in Central, which helps her hone her people skills.
'I love to meet a lot of people and find out about their experiences. I'm very people-oriented, like to socialise and I'm not afraid to speak to people. I'm also very organised, a team player and a good leader,' she said.
At university, Ms Ng was involved in different committees such as the University of Hong Kong's international student service and Star Hall design team. Last summer she volunteered for Life in English, helping to organise summer camps for children aged five to 15.
Ms Ng is fluent in English, French and Mauritian Creole, conversant in Cantonese and has a basic knowledge of Putonghua and Spanish.
