CitySeen caught up with former actress and fellow columnist Gigi Fu Ming-hin at Dior's Pure Poison launch last week. Fu, who writes event and fashion snippets for Oriental Weekly and East Weekly, also has one novel, two how-to beauty books and one how-to-raise-a-pet book under her belt.

An avid animal-rights activist, Fu, whose eyes are already very big, widened them even wider when she spoke excitedly to CitySeen about her five Pekinese dogs.

'I really, really love dogs,' exclaims Fu. 'I don't know why I'm so crazy about them, but they're just such sweet creatures and they understand us human beings.'

Fu's pet book makes it clear to the reader that having a pet is not an easy task. Raising a puppy is much like raising a baby, and unless you are willing to sacrifice lots of time and money, it is just not for you.

As of now, the book is only available in Hong Kong. 'I hope that my book will be translated to simplified Chinese soon and sold in the China market,' says Fu, who is also the honorary director of the Friend or Food campaign.
