Brothers killed 12 people in six provinces: police
Police have detained two brothers who they say killed 12 people, including 11 women who were robbed and dismembered, as they ran amok for 15 months across six provinces.
Shen Changyin, 29, and Shen Changping, 21, were allegedly dismembering a woman when a policewoman posing as a property manager broke into their flat in Shijiazhuang, Hebei province, on Tuesday in response to a tip-off.
The pair were arrested with female accomplice Du Surong, who was used as bait to lure the victim.
Shijiazhuang police told the Yanzhao Metropolis Daily the three had been detained but charges had yet to be brought.
The report said the older brother claimed in September 1999 that he killed a man who had raped the sister of a friend.
The brothers fled and allegedly killed 11 women who worked in nightclubs and bathhouses in six provinces in the past 15 months.
