Four Young Post readers who completed the Summer Challenge are already eyeing their next targets.
Francis Li, Gigi Lam, Carey Lee and Carmen Kong set their goals for the summer at the beginning of July, and Young Post has been following their progress. Francis (below right), 17, a Unicef young leader from Hong Kong International School, wanted to obtain both Level One and Two rock-climbing licences in order to use public climbing walls.
A talented musician, Gigi Lam (above right), 15, from St Catharine's School for Girls, challenged herself to write songs for the joint-school musical Market Street while learning to play the saxophone.
Inspired by the Japanese novel Village of 100 People, Carey (left), 19, was determined to help 100 people during the summer holidays.
Carmen (above left), 16, chose to learn Spanish as she likes Christina Aguilera.
The Summer Challenge was not a competition. There was no winner. Its purpose was to show that young people should set targets and try to achieve them. Although not all of the participants reached their goals, they had a meaningful summer holiday and learned a lot in the process.
And now, they are ready for new challenges.
