A renowned Hong Kong developer is offering an exciting opportunity for a senior professional willing to relocate to the mainland. The company has extensive investments in property development, construction material, and hotel ownership and management. K. Wah Group is focused on quality residential and commercial properties in Hong Kong, the mainland and overseas. Its property division is expanding and there is an opening for a general manager, property development, China. The general manager would have extensive experience in project development to assist the regional director in leading the company's team of professionals. He or she would also co-ordinate and supervise a team of architects, consultants and structural engineers in the overall design of building, building services and compliance with government policies and regulations. The general manager would also be expected to oversee a number of building developments, from land acquisition to project completion, including design evaluation, tender analysis, contract negotiation, value enhancement, project planning and administration. Other duties include directing all aspects of projects and construction work carried out in accordance with contract specifications and drawings, controlling cost, quality and time, and liaising with internal and external customers. The company is looking for someone with a master of business administration degree and 12 years' experience in property development and project management, preferably from a consultancy firm or developer. Proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese, excellent communication and leadership skills and sound business acumen are strong assets. The applicant must also be a creative thinker and prepared to face challenges and understand cross-cultural differences. Beside its involvement in property investment and development in Hong Kong and China, K. Wah International Holdings, a member of the K. Wah Group, holds 67 per cent of K. Wah Construction Materials. The construction company is one of five major construction material suppliers in Hong Kong and also supplies Macau and the mainland. The company has developed several property projects in a few of China's large cities.
