A Hong Kong television network is expanding, creating huge opportunities for lively, hard-working and high-calibre people in news, engineering and technology.
If you are highly motivated or have expertise in the journalistic field, you could become one of Asia TV's (ATV) new team members as the television station expands its news production to include a 24-hour news channel in late November.
Positions include editorial, production and engineering. The station is looking for more than 80 people to join its growing network of reporters, anchor people and camera operators, among many other positions. The news programme will be aired in Chinese, but a strong knowledge of English is important.
'We'd like our reporters and editors to have a university degree and experience in the field. There are different levels of entry and the range in pay is anywhere from $9,000 to $50,000,' senior vice-president of news Peter Kwan said.
Someone applying for a junior position might be fresh out of school, while someone applying for a senior position would need five to seven years' relevant experience.
'For news anchors we are looking for fresh faces. People who work hard and are good looking, whether male or female, will appeal to the audience. For those behind the scenes it matters most that you are hard working. We have a lot of hard working people employed here.'
ATV will continue to expand as it is granted a licence to be aired via satellite, bringing ATV news and regular programming into people's homes outside Hong Kong. The station is planning to add a regular programming channel to its network next year. For potential employees, this will add bonus exposure as ATV becomes familiar worldwide.
