Survey finds 95pc of people earning over $45,000 a month are losing mane, possibly due to higher stress levels
The more money you earn, the more hair you are likely to lose, according to an online survey.
Legal professionals and accountants are most prone to lose their locks, followed by IT professionals and civil servants.
Of the 2,275 people surveyed on the internet in July and last month - by the internet service provider MSN and the Svenson Hair Centre - 1,223, or 54 per cent, complained they were losing hair.
The findings showed that of those earning more than $45,000 a month, 95 per cent suffered from hair loss, compared to 35 per cent of those earning less than $5,000 a month.
Of those with hair loss, 20 per cent were working in the legal or accounting fields and 16 per cent in the telecommunication and IT sector. They were followed by workers in government departments and disciplined services (15 per cent), and medical workers (11 per cent).
Svenson hair-loss specialist Christina Yeung Hing-lin, who helped conduct the survey, said stress and lack of rest played a role in hair loss, as those in high-paid jobs and professionals tended to be under more pressure.
