City's hotels enjoy a 50pc increase in visitors Macau's hotels welcomed 2.25 million guests between January and July, an increase of 50.2 per cent on the same period last year, the Statistics and Census Service announced. Some 55 per cent of all hotel guests were mainland Chinese, 34.2 per cent Hong Kong citizens, and 2.8 per cent Taiwanese. Average hotel occupancy was 82 per cent in July.
