If you've been seeing a lot of actress Maggie Cheung Ho-yee, who first rose to fame at the 1994 Miss Hong Kong beauty pageant, then you're probably addicted to TVB Jade's evening TV series War and Beauty, in which Cheung plays the emperor's favourite empress. The women in the series are evil and conniving, always plotting to bring each other down, but in reality, she says they get along just fine.
'I'm glad the audience is led to believe that we even hate each other in real life,' Cheung tells CitySeen. 'Our acting has definitely fooled you all!'
Educated in Britain, Cheung has a good command of English and is extremely eloquent. Fortunately, for all you eligible bachelors, she is single and not dating. Unfortunately, however, she has no time for romance. She is currently filming the leading role of a movie called Chang Hen Ge, based on the novel of the same name by rising Chinese author Wang An Yi.
But CitySeen didn't let Cheung get away without sharing a beauty tip.
'The secret to keeping my skin soft and white,' says Cheung, 'is due to, most importantly, my mum's genes, and also sufficient sleep, a nutritious diet and lots of water.'
