Since leaving the Special Air Service Regiment, Eddie Coltrane has spent five years trying to hunt down the men who murdered his wife, Astrid. After assassinating one of the killers in London, he embarks on a dangerous journey into the dark heart of Eastern Europe, where he discovers a shocking and secret act of national betrayal. It's all rather far-fetched, but still well written and exciting. It's also a book with a message. In an author's note, Strong warns that the events described in his story are considered frighteningly plausible by experts. He says that in June last year British troops were deployed to operations in the Congo under the European Union flag for the first time in history, and claims that the many horrific events he describes in Bosnia happened, but news of them was considered too horrendous to be broadcast to the public.
