A. Some time later Mei went to Wan Chai with her design for the wedding invitation. She spent a long time choosing the perfect colours, font and envelopes. She also double-checked the dates and places. There must be no mistakes.
B. Three months had passed and it was time to choose the date. Mei wanted a weekend. Dan's mother wanted a lucky date, and, of course, they had to talk to the Registry Office and the restaurants to see what dates were available. Finally, they settled on Saturday, November 8.
C. They hired the clothes for a week, so they arranged to spend Thursday afternoon at the photographer's, taking the photos for the beautiful wedding album Mei was determined to have for keepsake.
D. They decided the engagement period would last a year. When you are in love, you don't want to wait, but they had to plan where they were going to live, and Mei's parents wanted their only child to have a splendid wedding, so the preparations would take time.
E. A car was waiting for them. It took them to the hotel where the honeymoon suite was ready for them, filled simply with flowers. Then the next afternoon they would fly to Phuket for a week's holiday.
F. Dan had bought a diamond ring and now he took it from its box and slipped it onto Mei's finger. They were now engaged.
