Drawing inspiration from  the popular tri-coloured carry-all bags, designer Marylene Lichtenstern  has reworked the   sturdy material to create a range of trendy handbags and umbrellas under the title Marylene. 'I often saw the bags on the street, and I thought I could reinvent them and make something young and cool,' says Lichtenstern.  Small bags (right) cost $400, large $600 and the umbrellas $500.
