Hongkongers know it best: if the fun doesn't come to you, go out and seek it.
There were many familiar Hong Kong faces at the Louis Vuitton party on Friday night, which was held at a 'secret location'. Guests were asked to meet at the new flagship store, and it was only after the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which included Maggie Cheung Man-yuk (pictured with Yves Carcelle of LVMH) and mainland actor Chen Dao-ming, that they were told the party location.
Across the street in a park, a huge tent with unlimited champagne awaited. The usual red carpet, mimes on stilts and large Roman pillars led to the start of the party, where seemingly everyone, except for Cheung, had a great time.
Cheung, who was dogged by the paparazzi from the moment she stepped out of her limo, was hiding in a dark corner outside the party. She had told the press earlier, 'I won't be doing interviews today, I'm here for a party'.
Cameras were prohibited, but mainland paparazzi snuck in, hunted Cheung down and started flashing away. They were removed and Cheung left the party without boogying to even one tune.
