Won Sam-lung, who will leave prison today, hopes to qualify as an accountant
A man jailed at the age of 16 for the 1985 murders of two expatriate teenagers in Braemar Hill is likely to take a job as a clerk after he walks free today, and hopes to become an accountant.
Won Sam-lung, the first member of the so-called Braemar Hill Gang to be freed, will leave Stanley Prison this morning.
His elder brother told the South China Morning Post that Won, 35, had been offered a position as a clerk at a company run by family friends.
'My brother will strive to complete the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants' international accounting exam while working as a clerk,' he said.
The brother, who visited him on Saturday, said Won was excited about his imminent release and intended to address the media when he walks through the prison gate.
He said Won wanted to see his mother, now over 70 years old, on his first day of freedom. But a family dinner to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival tonight was unlikely because many family members would be working.
