Second skin Giorgio Armani Cosmetics has added two new products - Hydra Glow foundation with SPF 15 ($360/30ml) and High Precision Retouch ($180) - to its line. The moisturising foundation enriched with vitamin E is designed for dry skin, with its softening oils and active moisturising ingredients to stimulate the skin's lipid function. Micro mother-of-pearl particles provide even coverage, while the blue-light-reflecting, corrective pigment helps to refine the texture of skin and hide fine lines. With 10 shades created by international makeup artist Pat McGrath, Hydra Glow provides protection and coverage for all skin types throughout the day. Hide any remaining blemishes with the High Precision Retouch's small brush, which dishes out just the right dose of yellow-based Micro-fil pigment to reflect light, and hide shadows and small skin imperfections. Available next month from Giorgio Armani Cosmetics counters at Festival Walk, Kowloon Tong, and Chater House, Central.

Shake and spray Is your sunburnt skin crying out for some care? Methode Jeanne Piaubert has launched L'Hydro-Active Biphase 24 heures ($480/140ml), a two-phased hydration spray which re-establishes the water and lipid balance of the skin. Active ingredients include vegetal glycerine to prevent skin dehydration, anti-ageing yeast extract, sodium hyaluronate (which forms a film on the surface of the skin to trap water molecules and reinforce the natural skin barrier), alpha-hydroxy acid silanol (a moisturising and anti-inflammatory agent that normalises the pH of skin), and safflower oil, with its high oleic acid content to reduce water loss. This non-greasy spray will keep your skin moisturised and supple for 24 hours. Available from Methode Jeanne Piaubert at IFC Mall, Central, and Henry House in Causeway Bay.

Light effect Diorskin Perfect-Fit Compact SPF 20 ($290 or $200 for a refill) is designed for Asian women, with skin tones ranging from pale ivory to pinkish beige. The compact's 'invariable colour' technology means the powder self-adjusts to environmental factors, ensuring even colouring at all times. The powder foundation uses light-reflecting pigments: red to deepen and structure the face, blue to even its relief, and yellow to brighten the complexion. Optical corrective pigments also help to minimise fine lines and imperfections. This 'perfect-fit' powder also contains seaweed extract, fluorinated talc and mica to moisturise, soothe and ensure long-lasting wear. Another great feature is the anti-UV filter, which eradicates the need to use sunscreen. Available from all Dior beauty counters.

Oxidise and detoxify Biotherm has launched Hydra DetO2X - Moisturising Detoxifying Massage Essence ($380/30ml) - a hydrating serum that detoxifies and oxygenates skin. The miracle claim of this essence is that one minute of application acts as a 90-minute draining massage. Containing an 'Oxydetox' complex, the serum neutralises toxins, stimulates oxygen supply to skin cells and moisturises to allow better absorption of oxygen while soothing the skin with thermal plankton. The one-minute massage sequence to be used with the light gel helps skin drain away impurities. Two other new products to complement the serum are the Detoxifying Moisturising Fluid ($350/50ml) for normal and combination skin and Detoxifying Moisturising Cream ($350/50ml) for dry skin.
