A range of opportunities has opened up to English, Chinese, mathematics or marketing graduates who are dedicated to the education of children and comfortable communicating with instructors, children and their parents.

A prestigious international education company with more than 3.5 million students in 44 countries is looking for high-calibre executives to join its local team.

Established in Japan in 1958, the Kumon Method of Learning was designed to help students develop their ability to the full. Today, Kumon Hong Kong has more than 33,000 students and is expanding rapidly.

Vacant positions include a replacement executive - English instruction, and three new posts: executive - company centre; executive - marketing; and executive - recruit (franchise).

Duties of the executive - English instruction include organising lectures and a training programme for Kumon instructors and functions for students.

The executive must also visit Kumon centres to learn operations, observe student learning progress and understand the day-to-day challenges faced by instructors, senior executive of human resources/training team Sherman Wong said.

Instructing students in mathematics, English or Chinese at Kumon education centres is part and parcel of the role of the executive - company centre.

'Educating [children] to be independent learners through Kumon methods of learning' were high spots of this particular job, Ms Wong said.

The executive - marketing must liaise with agencies over the production of in-house materials and generate press releases.

Among other aspects, the candidate would 'introduce Kumon to the public' and take up the challenge of helping Kumon penetrate untapped areas of Hong Kong and Macau, Ms Wong said.

The executive - recruit would recruit 'quality and like-minded franchisees to become co-workers and Kumon instructors'.
