I WONDER if someone from the Cross-Harbour Tunnel Company could let us know their intentions with respect to Autopass.
At the moment the two Autopass booths are located by the most congested lanes, with users having to cross the Hong Kong-bound bus lanes and the Kowloon-bound merging traffic to and from Tsim Sha Tsui .
This is definitely a disincentive to regular users to switch to the Autopass System.
Earlier this week, the company erected an ''Autopass only'' sign and laid down lane markings to convert the Kowloon-bound fast lane to Autopass. The next day they took down the sign and painted out the lines.
What is going on? I know it is a chicken and egg situation but they will not attract the customers till they make the service more attractive.
