If you've been to Times Square lately, you wouldn't have missed the $6 million piano standing outside the Max Mara shop. It is the instrument on which Yundi Li performed for hundreds of screaming fans last weekend. Born in Chongqing, Li won the 14th Warsaw Chopin Competition in 2000 when he was 18, the youngest champion ever. The young star said recently that if he could get one famous musician to compose a song for him, he would choose Mozart. 'His music has wonderful rhythm and you can find spirit and soul from his pieces,' says Li. Li, who is in Hong Kong to promote his new album, will hold a question-and-answer session for 100 lucky fans today. To listen to the broadcast (in Chinese only), tune in to Radio 4, RTHK (FM 97.6) on Thursday at 8pm.
