Veteran actress Cecilia Yip-tung tells CitySeen rumours of trouble in her marriage are not true. The Chinese press ran a story last week claiming Yip and Chan Kwok-hei's marriage was on the rocks and that Yip was 'emotionally distressed and broke champagne glasses when her husband suddenly disappeared' from a party in Shanghai last month.
Yip, who has been in Shanghai for the past six months shooting a TV series, says the rumours had affected her work and concentration. 'You know, rumours that affect my work are okay, but when it involves my family, it is not. After the story ran, both my mother and my mother-in-law rang me every day and asked if the rumours were true. They were just so worried.'
But Yip, in high spirits when she ran into CitySeen, says the rumours may have an up side - publicity for her new TV series. And she's confident 'my husband is very loyal to me...well, as far as I know!'
