Outspoken talk show host-turned legislator Albert Cheng King-hon on Thursday advised former chief secretary Anson Chan Fang On-sang to 'keep her mouth shut'. 
Mr Cheng, nicknamed 'Taipan', was responding to comments on Wednesday by Mrs Chan when she criticised media coverage of Legco. Mrs Chan retired from politics in April 2001 after 38 years in the civil service.

On Wednesday, the former chief secretary said in a promotional item for new Commercial Radio programmes that the media should lead the public into rational analysis.
Mr Cheng, participating on Scmp.com's online chat show ,On the Spot, said: 'I admire Mrs Chan, but [if] she wants to continue to express her political views she should either form a party, which I will definitely join if she accepts me, or express interest in running for the third CE office. 
'Otherwise, maybe she should keep her mouth shut - just like her peers who have retired from the government,' he added.

Mr Cheng praised fellow legislator 'Long Hair' Leung Kwok-hung - the veteran activist who was also recently elected to Legco. 'I think Long Hair has demonstrated that he is one of the members with political sense. 
'First, he applied to the High Court, and after being rejected by the court, he still managed to achieve what he has aimed to do during the swearing in ceremony. I think he is great,' he said.
Mr Cheng said Long Hair was his favourite legislator.
'I have a lot of least favourite [legislators]. The list is too long. Just to name one - Rita Fan Hsu Lai-tai, because she earns double being the chairwoman of Legco and doesn't have to take a stand on any issues,' he said.
The outspoken democrat hosted the popular radio show Teacup in a Storm on Commercial Radio for nearly 10 years. Mr Cheng was sacked in July on the grounds that he took leave in May. He left the show temporarily in May after receiving threats he should stop criticising the government on his programme.
When questioned on the publicity he received during this period, Mr Cheng said: 'I never enjoyed the publicity, in particular the bad publicity and the controversies, generated from the show.
'In fact, I only enjoyed helping the people and maintaining justice and monitoring the government in the past and in the future,' he added.
Mr Cheng also said: 'Obviously, I am a victim of the lack of freedom of speech in Hong Kong. I will fight to preserve everyone's freedom in Hong Kong.'
