A man charged with throwing a brick in a busy Mongkok street told a court yesterday he had been under a lot of stress.

Lo Chuen-sang, 42, who appeared in North Kowloon Court without legal representation, was denied bail. He did not enter a plea.

The magistrate adjourned the hearing for two weeks.

Lo was arrested on Sunday in connection with 12 incidents in which bricks were thrown from high-rise buildings in Mongkok.

He was charged with one count of allowing an object to fall from a height after allegedly dropping a brick from a roof in Sai Yeung Choi Street on Sunday, endangering people outside a commercial building.

Under the Summary Offences Ordinance, a person who drops something or allows it to fall from a building is liable to a fine of up to $10,000 and a maximum prison sentence of six months.
